Description
Loctal sockets accept the B8G loctal base format, a proprietary 8-pin self-locking base system developed by Sylvania in the late 1930s. Loctal valves include types such as 7B4, 7C5, 7F7, and the 12SG7, used in American radios and some Hi-Fi equipment of the 1940s.
The interlocking mechanism holds the valve securely against vibration, making loctal valves popular in automotive and military applications of the era. Replacement sockets are increasingly hard to find, making this a valuable item for restorers.
Chassis-mount type. Supplied as a single socket.
