The Genalex Gold Lion PX300B is widely regarded as one of the best 300B audio power triodes available today. Drawing on the heritage of the legendary GEC (Genalex) PX4 and PX25 triodes of the 1930s, this modern reissue combines traditional construction with upgraded materials.
Key features include an oversized alloy plate for maximum power dissipation, gold grid wire to eliminate secondary emission and improve linearity, quadruple spring-loaded filament supports for mechanical stability and longevity, and a quality ceramic base for reliable thermal dissipation. Gold-plated contact pins ensure full, low-resistance connection.
The 300B is the classic directly-heated triode for single-ended amplifier designs, favoured for its legendary midrange magic and natural reproduction of voice and acoustic instruments. A slight blue glow during warm-up is normal and not a cause for concern.
