The Mullard 12AT7 / ECC81 reissue brings the classic Mullard tonal character to a new-production medium-gain preamp triode. Made in Russia, this valve recreates the warm, detailed presentation that made the original Blackburn-factory Mullard a benchmark in European amplifier manufacture.
The 12AT7 (ECC81) with its mu of approximately 60 is the natural choice for phase-splitter and reverb-driver positions, where its combination of moderate gain and high headroom prevents the saturation that would occur with a 12AX7. Mullard’s version adds the company’s characteristic midrange richness and tonal warmth to these practical advantages.
Compatible with 12AT7, ECC81 and 6201 positions. Single valve, tested before dispatch.
