The Tung-Sol 12AT7 / 6201 is a reissue of one of the most trusted preamp and driver valves ever made. Rated to the rugged 6201 military specification, it combines reduced microphonics from its short-plate geometry with high headroom and a balanced, transparent tone that suits both critical Hi-Fi and demanding guitar-amp applications.
The 12AT7 (ECC81) is a medium-gain dual triode with a mu of approximately 60, making it the natural choice for phase splitter and reverb driver positions where the higher gain of a 12AX7 would cause clipping. Its strong transient response also makes it popular for phono and line-level driver stages in high-end audio.
Tung-Sol’s Russian-made reissue maintains tight production tolerances, low hum, and long operational life. Suitable for use in any 12AT7, ECC81, 6201 or 12AT7WA position. Single valve, tested before dispatch.
