Description
The 12BY7 (and its equivalents 12BY7A and EL180) is a beam power tetrode used extensively in American television sets as a video driver amplifier. Its high transconductance and robust construction made it well-suited for the demanding video amplification role.
NOS examples from various manufacturers are available. While primarily a television type, the 12BY7 has been used experimentally in audio applications by builders seeking unusual noval power tetrodes. Stock is limited.
Noval 9-pin base. NOS. A single valve is supplied.
