Description
The 6146 is a robust beam power tetrode developed for radio transmitter service and subsequently used in audio amplifiers seeking high power from a compact envelope. These are New Old Stock examples made by STC (Standard Telephones and Cables) in Great Britain — one of the most respected manufacturers of the era.
The CV3523 is the British military designation for the 6146. Equivalent types include QE05/40, QV06-20, 6146A, 6146B, and the Chinese FU-46. The 6146 and its variants were also used in some vintage guitar and hi-fi power amplifiers, including certain Valvemark designs.
