Description
The 6BL8 / ECF80 is a combined triode-pentode valve sharing its B9A noval envelope. A near relative of the ECF82 and 6U8, the 6BL8 was widely used in Australian and European television equipment during the 1960s and has since become a useful component for amp restorers and DIY builders working on vintage equipment that uses these types.
The combined triode-pentode topology allows a single valve to perform both small-signal voltage amplification (triode section) and output-stage duties (pentode section) within the same glass envelope. This made it an economical choice for the television manufacturers of its era, and its distinct character makes it interesting to experimenters today.
Compatible with 6BL8, ECF80, 6U8 and ECF82 positions. Single valve, tested before dispatch.
