Description
The 6C4 (British equivalents M8080 and EC90) is a single triode in a compact B7G 7-pin envelope, electrically equivalent to one half of a 12AU7 / ECC82. It was used as a driver and cathode-follower stage in Hi-Fi preamplifiers, disc players, and compact audio equipment requiring a small, reliable single triode.
The M8080 designation is a British Post Office specification (GPO/Mullard), indicating a particularly high-quality variant. NOS examples are useful for restoration of vintage British and American Hi-Fi equipment using this type. Tested before dispatch. Supplied as a single valve.
