Description
The 6DX8 / ECL84 is a combined triode-pentode valve in a B9A (noval) envelope, where both a triode and a pentode section share a single glass envelope. This configuration made the ECL84 popular in television deflection circuits and audio applications where a single valve could perform two circuit functions simultaneously, saving space and cost.
In Australia these valves were widely used in domestic television sets throughout the 1960s, and the type has found a second life among amp restorers and DIY builders working on vintage gear. The triode section is particularly useful as a reverb driver in guitar amplifiers, while the pentode section can serve as a low-power output stage.
Compatible with 6DX8 and ECL84 positions. Single valve, tested before dispatch.
