Description
The 6GW8 / ECL86 is a combination valve housing a triode and a power pentode in a single noval envelope, designed for use in low-power audio output stages. It was widely used in portable and table-top radio and TV audio circuits, as well as some low-power hi-fi amplifiers.
These are used pull examples in tested and graded condition, removed from working equipment. The ECL86 / 6GW8 is sought by restorers of vintage equipment in which it was originally specified. Its combination of both sections in a single envelope makes it difficult to substitute with standard single-function valves.
Noval (9-pin) base. Supplied as a single used, tested valve.
