Description
The 807 is one of the most historically significant beam power tetrodes ever made, developed by RCA in the late 1930s for radio transmitter service. Its robust construction, high power output (up to 25W in audio service), and pleasant sonic character led to its widespread adoption in post-war hi-fi amplifiers across the USA, UK, and Australia.
New Old Stock examples from STC Great Britain and other premium manufacturers are available. The 807 uses an unusual top-cap connection for its plate, requiring an appropriately wired output transformer. Its close relatives include the VT-100 (military), QE06/50 (UK), Г-807 (Soviet), and CV124 (British military).
These valves are increasingly sought after by builders and collectors. UX5 5-pin base with top plate cap. A single valve is supplied.
