The Electro-Harmonix 5U4GB is a robust full-wave rectifier valve suitable for both Hi-Fi and guitar amplifier use. Rectifier valves convert the AC mains supply into the DC high voltage that powers the amplifier’s circuit, and the type used has a subtle but real influence on tone and feel — many players and listeners prefer the softer, more gradual power supply that a tube rectifier provides compared to solid-state alternatives.
The 5U4GB is compatible with 5AS4, 5U4, CV575, VT244, VU71 and 5Z3P types. Every valve is AMPLITREX AT1000 tested for quality assurance before leaving the store.
