The General Electric JAN 6080WC is a mil-spec twin triode built to Joint Army-Navy (JAN) standards — one of the most rigorous specifications for vacuum tube manufacture. GE’s US production is particularly sought after for its robust construction and excellent long-term reliability.
The 6080/6AS7 family serves a dual purpose: as a high-current shunt or series voltage regulator in power supply designs, and as an output valve in speciality single-ended amplifiers. Its very low plate impedance and high current capacity make it distinctive among small triodes.
