Description
The JJ Electronic ECC83MG is a medium-gain variant of the classic 12AX7/ECC83 dual triode, manufactured at JJ’s modern Čadca facility in Slovakia. The “MG” designation refers to its medium-gain, long-plate construction, which produces a warmer, richer midrange character compared to standard high-gain ECC83s.
This valve delivers approximately 10–15% lower gain than a regular ECC83, making it particularly effective for reducing harsh high-frequency content in guitar preamp stages or adding body to hi-fi phono and line stages. Its very low noise floor and excellent microphonic rejection make it equally suited to sensitive signal path positions.
Compatible with any circuit calling for a 12AX7, ECC83, 7025 or similar 9-pin noval dual triode. A single valve is supplied.
