Description
The Mullard 6AB8 (ECL80) is a New Old Stock combined triode and output pentode in a 9-pin noval envelope. Mullard describes the ECL80 as primarily designed for television receiver use, but it was also widely used in low-cost record players and Hi-Fi amplifiers that used high-output crystal pickups.
Mullard, established in 1920 and acquired by Philips in 1926, became one of the great valve manufacturing companies in history. The ECL80 features a high-mu triode section for voltage amplification and a pentode output section for driving loudspeakers, making it a compact, self-contained audio solution.
Equivalent to 6TP3 and 6TP6. Similar to the ECL82 and ECL86 family. BVA (British Valve Association) certified where applicable. Single valve — AMPLITREX AT1000 tested.
