Description
The Mullard KT88 is a premium new-production beam power tetrode bearing the Mullard name — one of the most revered in valve audio history. Made in Saratov, Russia, with a triple getter for superior vacuum maintenance and long emission life, this valve brings the classic Mullard tonal character to modern production: warm, detailed and authoritative.
The KT88 was originally designed by GEC in 1956 and quickly became the preferred output valve of British Hi-Fi amplifier designers, featuring in legendary Leak, Quad, Radford and McIntosh-inspired designs. With a rated plate dissipation of 42W, it remains one of the most capable and sonically versatile beam tetrodes available.
Compatible with KT88, KT90, 6550 and related socket positions. Popular in Conrad Johnson, Audio Research and many Hi-Fi integrated amplifiers. Single valve, tested before dispatch.
