Description
The Philips 6CM5 (also known as the EL36 and its Soviet equivalent the 6П31С / 6P13P) is a beam power pentode with a distinctive following among Australian DIY audio builders. Widely used in Australian-made television sets during the 1950s and 60s, it has since been repurposed by enthusiasts as an output valve in custom-built Hi-Fi amplifiers where its robust construction and readily available NOS supply make it an economical and reliable choice.
Philips manufactured these in multiple facilities throughout the Commonwealth period, and the quality consistency is excellent. The 6CM5 operates in a similar power range to the EL84 and has been used successfully in single-ended and push-pull configurations by Australian amp builders for decades.
Compatible with 6CM5, EL36, 6П31С and 6P13P positions. Single valve, tested before dispatch.
