Description
The DY86 (1S2, 1R11) is a half-wave high-voltage rectifier in a subminiature envelope, used to generate the extra-high tension (EHT) voltage required for cathode-ray tubes in vintage black-and-white television sets. These NOS examples were made by Philips in Australia.
The DY86 operates at voltages far higher than standard audio rectifiers — up to several kilovolts — making it a specialist type with limited interchangeability. It is of interest primarily to restorers of vintage television and oscilloscope equipment requiring this specific type.
NOS, made in Australia by Philips. A single valve is supplied.
