Description
The 6AL3 (EY88) is a half-wave rectifier diode in a noval 9-pin envelope, used in the power supply stages of vintage European and Australian radio and television equipment. These examples are genuine NOS Philips Miniwatt production, made in Australia by the Philips/AWV facility.
As a half-wave rectifier, the EY88 was used extensively in battery-supplement and AC/DC radio designs, particularly in European portable and table-top radios of the 1950s and 60s. It is of interest primarily to restorers of vintage equipment requiring this specific type.
NOS, made in Australia by Philips Miniwatt. Noval 9-pin base. A single valve is supplied.
