Description
The 7586 is an RCA nuvistor — a miniature metal-ceramic thermionic valve in a thimble-sized package, developed in the late 1950s as a bridge between conventional valves and transistors. The nuvistor offered extremely low noise, high transconductance, and excellent VHF performance in a package far smaller than conventional valve envelopes.
Nuvistor triodes were used in the front ends of premium television and FM tuners, including top-of-the-line Marantz and Fisher tuners where their low noise contributed to outstanding sensitivity. They are of significant collector interest and are still valued for VHF preamp applications.
Nuvistor metal-ceramic package. Made in USA. New Old Stock. Supplied as a single tested valve.
