Description
The Sovtek 6BQ5WA (also designated EL84M) is the military-specification variant of the EL84 / 6BQ5 power pentode, manufactured to tighter tolerances with ruggedised internal construction for use in demanding military, broadcast, and industrial applications. The military ‘M’ suffix indicates enhanced screening of parameters including transconductance, plate current, and noise.
For audio use, the EL84M is regarded as a more consistent and often longer-lived alternative to the standard EL84. Its tighter tolerance range makes it an excellent choice for push-pull amplifiers where matched output valve behaviour is critical, and for critical Hi-Fi applications where reliability matters.
Supplied as a single valve. Compatible with EL84, 6BQ5, and EL84M sockets.
