Description
The Tung-Sol 6EU7 is a current-production Russian twin triode designed as a direct equivalent to valves used in vintage Ampeg and Fisher audio equipment. It shares the same gain characteristics as the 12AX7 but uses the less common 9LS noval pinout, making it specific to equipment designed for this type.
Tung-Sol’s modern Russian production keeps this increasingly scarce type available for restoration projects. The 6EU7 was used in the input stages of several vintage Ampeg guitar amplifiers and Fisher hi-fi equipment where a standard 12AX7 cannot be substituted without rewiring.
