What we do
“CHATS is a volunteer-run charity committed to providing essential support, including food, clothing, and social connection, to individuals experiencing homelessness, financial distress and social isolation in Adelaide’s western suburbs.”
Our purpose is to provide a weekly, fully cooked breakfast in Port Adelaide. We provide a variety of foods such as eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms, rolls, toast, fresh fruit salad, cereals and of course, cups of tea/coffee and juice.
We aim to bring together people who are socially isolated and identifying as in need.
We also provide food hampers, clothing and bedding.
We pickup leftover bread. groceries or event food which is destined for landfill regularly. This food is then distributed to those in need in the western suburbs. We deliver it to schools, before school programs and directly to those in need.
